The 110 sheep and yearling ewes graze on the Waddenzeedijk in summer. After they have been weaned, the lambs graze on the mowed pasture near the farm. Our farm is a fifteen minute drive from the ferry and easy to reach. We aim to breed a Texel with a good exterior, which is also functional, productive and which will have a long life. Functionality, longevity and productivity are important. Our flock is monitored for scrapie and Maedi-Visna accredited. We have been successful in the Texel shows on Texel for years now and have won champion's titles and 1A prizes.
The Blue Texel For a few years now, we have been keeping Blue Texels. At the moment, we have ten of them. Their characteristics include less problems at birth and more milk production. We aim to breed a pedigree Blue Texel which is well-developed, productive, functional and which has all the breed characteristics. |
