We have recently sold off ram 3993-1030, so on this page we want to put this self-bred ram in the spotlights one more time.

This autumn his sperm quality was so low all of a sudden, we did not want to use him any more. On top of that he developed pneumonia at the start of this winter. It no longer seemed wise to keep him.

At the young age of 1.5 he was registered wit 89 points for general appearance. His well-developed trunk and his fresh looking head impressed people, they gave him a lot of character. This did no go unnoticed. Not only was he used liberally on our own farm, other farms too appreciated his talents.

For instance, his now two-year-old son, Dirk van Ark's 3881-1700, was also registered with 89 points and made an impressive debut when he won the champion's title in Opmeer. He did even better at the winter show in Ambt Delden, where he was champion of the day and presented himself as a perfect ram, heavy and well-built with a truly masculine appearance.

He was not the only one to be successful. His son 3881-1889, born at the end of april, became reserve champion among the ram lambs. This ram is owned by Jaap Worp, and his beautiful proportions and type with a wide mouth stood out.

Ram 3881-1700 recently gave a repeat performance at the national winter show in Middenbeemster, achieving the same result. But another 1030 son was exhibited as well, ram lamb 5673-0103, owned by Loek van Vliet and others. Stepping proudly, long and yet correctly developed, he easily reached the finals, having already won the championship on Texel.

A year before that, we saw another special 1030 son on his farm: 5673-0093, born in May. He is not quite well-developed enough to suit today's tastes, but it is a ram with a particularly good profile and a very short coat. This makes his appearance a cut above the rest. This ram tupped a large number of our sheep in the autumn. We anxiously await the offspring of a daughter of 1030, ewe 3993-1129 (ARR-ARR), registered with 91 points, which has been tupped by the well-known 4030-2770 (ARR-ARR).

If you want to know what we will have on our farm this spring, you are more than welcome to visit us.
