Welcome to our site about sheep breeding, which is our business. Our sheep farm was established in 1963, when we entered eight 1.5 year old sheep into the auxiliary herdbook.

By combining fitting rams with a lot of enthusiasm we are now able to present this site to you.

Presently, our farm covers 109 acres. We keep 40 dairy cows and related young cattle, plus 160 breeding ewes and 80 one-year-old ewes. To improve the soil, we rent out 15 acres for the cultivation of potatoes. We also grow ten acres of green maize for the dairy cattle.

Our farm is centrally situated, a stone's throw from Den Burg. Off the ferry you take the Pontweg. Near Den Burg, you will come to a roundabout. Go round three quarters of the way, in the direction of Den Hoorn. Then it is the first farm on your right, where you are always welcome.

We aim to breed a functional, well-developed sheep, which lambs easily and raises the lambs without any difficulties. Our farm is Maedi-Visna accredited and scrapie monitored. We try to use as many rams with ARR-ARR status as possible, and draw the line at ARR-ARQ.

From the very start we have bred extensively with 'Kikkert blood'. The first rams were 1593 and 6801 and this has led to the present standard. Other rams have left their mark on our farm as well, and they did very well at breeder's fairs:

    4380-2727 ARQ-ARR Breeder: K. Tjepkema. In joint ownership of N. van Heerwaarden en P.G. Kooiman This ram won the Champion's title at the Agricultural Fair in Den Hoorn and became Res. Champion in Purmerend.
