I have been involved with breeding pedigree Texels since the mid seventies. I try to breed sheep which lamb easily, are of sufficient length and size (withers at least 70 cm high), weigh 75 kg and have a high litter size index.

To achieve this, I have done away with all luxuries, because I prefer a practical sheep. My sheep stay outside year round, except for a few days during the lambing season. This helps breed strong, healthy sheep.

By now, the sheep have all been tupped again.
This season, I have used two ram lambs, to wit: 4210-3291 and 4210-3923.
Ram lamb 4210-3921 (father 3135-7095, F.F. 4936-0350, F.M. 3135-4977)
(mother 4210-2791, M.F. 4078-0610, M.M. 4210-2101)
This ram lamb has been provisionally registered as follows:
muscle 86 points, general appearance 86 points, and wool 88 points.
It stood 61 centimetres high. Genotype: ARQ/ARR.

Ram lamb 4210-3923 (father 4210-3825, F.F. 4210-3192, F.M. 4210-2801)
(mother 4210-2973, M.F. 4210-2184, M.M. 4210-2569)
This ram lamb has been provisionally registered as follows:
muscle 85 points, general appearance ab86, and wool 89 points.
It stood 64 centimetres high. Genotype: ARR/ARR.

Of the 1,5 year old ewes, ewe 3893-0317 has been registered with a90 points.

If you would like to visit us, you are most welcome. Off the ferry, take a left at the first traffic lights and then take a right to Den Hoorn. If you drive towards the white church, you will see a wooden barn with red roof tiles and white bargeboards. This is our farm. There is plenty of parking space.
