| History |
| Our
farm dates back to 1925, when my father joined the Texel Herdbook
of North Holland. This laid the foundations for the sheep farm Verberne.
In 1956 we took over the farm and specialized in sheep breeding. The
present flock can still be traced back to the old bloodlines. |

We
consider our farm to be our life's work. By choosing the rams and
selecting breeding material, we try to raise the whole flock to a
higher level. For this, we rely on our own vision.
75 years of breeding have produced a flock of well-bred sheep in 'Spang',
bearing the Verberne hallmark. Through the years, our sheep have won
many championships and titles. Every year we sell breeding material
to other breeders in countries like Holland, Belgium and England. |

| Sheep |
We
aim to breed a well-developed sheep exhibiting all the right characteristics
and type by combining an even build and a deep forehand with a good
shape, small ears and a noble head. We value longevity and vitality.
Our sheep keep on developing nicely as they get older.
Over the past years, ram 4210-2184, which we bred ourselves, has had
a great deal of influence on our farm, both through his own daughters
and through his son 4210-2800. At the age of 2.5, ram 4210-2184 was
registered with 91 points for general appearance. Daughters of this
A-ram are good for breeding and distinguish themselves in other ways
as well. They have a good exterior and good characteristics. |

In
1998, a daughter of 2184 produced ram 4210-3192. In 2000,
this ram won several championships. Some A-ewes produced by
this ram are still walking around on a number of farms. He
was registered at 3,5 years of age with an A 90 for general
appearance. He was assessed as follows:

This
son of ewe 4210-3251 and ram 4066-866 is a strongly developed,
broad ram with a broad upper body and good meat. In 1999 his
mother won the national championship for 1,5 year old ewes
in Utrecht. She was registered with 94 points for general
appearance and produced six lambs in three litters. Ram 4133
has been registered preliminarily with:

son of ewe 4210-2576 and ram 2291-681 (breeder Meerdink) is
a fine looking ram with a good line and an attractive head.
He was born a triplet in April 2001. His mother has produced
14 lambs in 5 litters. Several sons of this ewe have been
used successfully by other breeders, such as 3152 (Gosserlink,
Rouwenhorst), 3153 (van Boekel, v/d Velde) and 3175 (v/d Zijp).

on his mother's side, of one of the best bloodlines of the
Kroon-farm. The father of this ram is 3881-1830 (breeder Van
